Our Approach to Responsible Service

Wellness isn't just what we offer — it's how we operate.

As an employee-owned company pursuing B Corporation certification, we believe that every aspect of our service should contribute to the wellbeing of our guests and our community. That includes how we approach alcohol.

Wellness First

The Evergreen Table, Yukon Spa and Dawson Lodge exist within a wellness ecosystem that includes Canada's northernmost day spa, a clinical care centre, float therapy, and holistic health services. Alcohol is available as part of our food and beverage offering, but it is not central to the experience we create. Our focus is on providing guests with choices that support how they want to feel — not just what they want to drink.

What We Do Differently

EVENING SERVICE LIMIT

We stop serving alcohol at 9pm, well before standard closing times.
Our space is designed for relaxation, connection, and recovery — not late-night drinking.

NON-ALCOHOLIC INCENTIVES

We offer discounted pricing on non-alcoholic spacer drinks, actively encouraging guests to moderate their consumption throughout the evening.

SENTIA BOTANICAL SPIRITS

We stock Sentia, a pioneering non-alcoholic botanical spirit created by Professor David Nutt, designed to replicate the relaxing social effects of alcohol without the negative health consequences.

PLANT-BASED PAIRING

Our entirely plant-based menu at Evergreen Table is designed to complement both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options equally, so choosing not to drink never feels like a compromise.

Training & Compliance

All Yukon Spaces team members who serve alcohol hold the required Serving It Right certifications. We comply fully with all Yukon Liquor Board regulations and licensing requirements.

Our responsible service practices include established protocols for recognising signs of overconsumption, procedures to prevent service to minors, and a supportive environment where guests are never pressured to drink.

Our Commitment to Community

Dawson City is a small, close-knit community of approximately 1,500 people on the traditional territory of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in. We are acutely aware of the impact that alcohol can have in small and Indigenous communities, and we take that responsibility seriously. By offering genuine, high-quality alternatives to alcohol and creating an environment where choosing not to drink is easy and appealing, we aim to contribute to a healthier social culture — in our venue and in our community.
