THE TURNING POINT

8-Day Wellness Intensive | December 15-23, 2026 |
Ending on the Winter Solstice

What if transformation requires moving through darkness, not around it?

The Turning Point is an 8-day intensive retreat in Dawson City, Yukon (64°N) that ends on December 21st — the winter solstice.

We live at 64 degrees north. In December, it is dark 20 hours a day, -25 to -35 Celsius. Instead of apologizing for that, we lean into it. Seeds germinate in the dark. We sleep and repair in the dark. Darkness is not empty — it is generative.

This is not a wellness escape. It is threshold work: clinical precision, integral facilitation, and the kind of reckoning that only happens when you stop running.

This retreat requires genuine self-work. We need to ensure you're ready and clear about why you're coming.

It is for people at genuine thresholds — career pivots, health reckonings, relationship transitions — who want both evidence and meaning. We combine clinical functional medicine with integral coaching from facilitators based in Italy and the UK. You will work in -25°C to -35°C conditions. You will spend time in solo vigil. You will be asked questions you've been avoiding.

At minimum, you leave understanding what questions you actually want to ask yourself. You'll have clinical tools — gut health protocols, inflammation markers, data about your body. You can choose to go deeper with those questions if you wish. But you'll know what they are.

The Five Questions

  • What's holding me back?
  • What's next for me?
  • How does the world see me versus how I see myself?
  • How do I navigate a complex world when I'm bombarded with easy answers — social media shorts, quick fixes, surface-level solutions?
  • What do I already know that I've been pretending not to?

The Four Pillars

The Turning Point is built on four interconnected pillars. Click each to explore in depth.

This program
attracts:

  • High-achieving professionals at genuine life thresholds
  • People who have tried therapy, coaching, or conventional wellness and want something more rigorous
  • Those comfortable with intellectual complexity and physical challenge
  • Individuals seeking clinical rigor alongside existential inquiry

This program is NOT for:

  • People seeking quick fixes rather than deep transformation
  • People uncomfortable with extreme cold (-25°C to -35°C)
  • Those seeking resort-style comfort
  • Anyone not ready for solo vigil or deep personal inquiry
Q: How cold is it really?
-25°C to -35°C average. Can reach -50°C. We provide expedition-grade gear and have comprehensive safety protocols. The cold is curriculum, not punishment. You will experience genuine physical discomfort during outdoor portions — this is intentional.
Q: What's the solo vigil?
2-3 hours alone at a chosen spot (river, town bench, wilderness edge) with a simple question held in silence. Facilitators know where everyone is. You can end early if needed. Often named as the most significant session.
Q: What if I've never done anything like this before?
Good. We're not looking for wellness veterans. We're looking for people willing to meet themselves honestly — with clinical support, skilled facilitation, and a group committed to the same work.
Q: Do I have to eat plant-based?
All meals are plant-based, with whole food plant-based options available. We strongly encourage WFPB for the clinical benefits (gut health, inflammation reduction), but we don't force it. Alcohol is available, along with Sentia (sophisticated alcohol-free alternative). The optimal path is clear; the choice is yours.
Q: Can I bring my partner?
Each person applies individually. Partners can attend the same retreat if both are accepted, but the work is individual.
Q: What happens after the program?
You receive a 30-day follow-up call (timed for when euphoria settles and pressures return), ongoing access to Dr. Desmond's protocols, peer coaching partnerships established during the program, and your personalized clinical protocol.
